INGLEWOOD.

[from our own correspondent.] November 3. — A spieler got a close hint by being kicked out of an hotel at Inglnwood on Tuesday night last. I have it from reliable authority that one of the above fraternity took up his quarters at an hotel the same evening as the circus was here. He was recognised by one of the men belonging to the circus. Tho landlord being informed of his presence kept nn eye on him. At bedtime the spieler went to his room, -but instead of going to bed he kept his door a little open. As , one of the proprietors of the circus was on his way to bed with the money which was taken at the entertainment, he spied the spieler peeping out of tho door, not being altogether closed. The circus proprietor, with another persen, pulled tho spieler out of the room, and gave him what soldiers call the frog's march, and when they got him down the stairs and near the front door they gave him several free kicks. I have not heard if tho landlord of the hotel had a free kick at the spieler, but, if he had, the sharper will remember it, as I am nearly sure his kick would carry the force of a 68-pounder with it. The circus was well patronised, tho large tent being filled with people. Darwin's missing link would not show himself, he kept a sack in front of him, aud only tho top of his head could be seen. I cannot understand his reason for being ashamed of himself, or of we Inglewood folks. Novemhkr 5.. — I'he residence of t Mr Michael Dabeck, at Tarata Road, was destroyed by fire last week. It was insured in the United Office; amount not ascertained. The Catholic church at Inglewood was crowded on Friday, it being "All Souls' Day," when the devout pray' for those who are dead. Many persons ceuld not find room. It is evidtnt that the church will have to be enlarged before long, as on a Sunday there is scarcely sitting room in it. The ground has been cleared and everything made ready for the laying of the foundation stone for the new Wesley an church. Inglewood is improving gradually.
