Money Securities.— Consols (Goschen's) 23 to 2J per cent, now at 100.J , steady. New Zealand securities are quoted as follows :— 4 per cent 1879-1904 loan, 108] ; 3J per cent, inscribed stock, lOli. Market rate of discount 1 per cent ; and bank rate of discount is now 1J percent. Total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion is now £23,648,000 being an increase of £418,000 on previouweek. Proportion of reserve to liabilities is 64.74 per cent., being an increase on last week of 1.42 per cent. BREADSTUFFS.-Wheat market: Australian store, 26s 6d to 27s per 49Glti (quiet) ; N.Z, long-berried wheat ex warehouse, 26s fid per 4961t». Tallow. — Tallow is in fair demand. Beef, medium 24s 3d ; medium mutton, 255. Leather. — Best sides Australian leather BJd per lb; hides are realising from 3d to 3Jd. Flax. — New Zealand hemp market is easier. Fair to good Wellington sold at £15 15s per ton. Butter. — The Kaikoura's butter and cheese 'arrived in good condition. Danish butter 955.
