|FBOM OUR OWN OuURK^PJ: D4NT ] April 12. — The annual meeting of the football club was held in the Gymnasium Hall last evening. There was a large attendance, which was mainly due to the exertions s of Mr Massecks in looking up the members and others. The following officers were appointed :—: — Captain, L. Allen ; Vice Captain, W. Hammond. Committee, W. Beale, T. H. Brown, T. Tyer, L. Allen, and W. Hammond ; Delegate, Mr R. H. Rankin. OKATO. [FKO.M OUU OWN OOKRESPONDKNT.] Ai'im, 12. — I was pleased to hear that Okato is, like the rest of the Taranaki district, by degrees slowly but surely making headway. Not only have they a dairy factory in which cooling chambers have just been attached and through which passes daily one of the largest if not the largest spply of milk on the West Coast, but in addition lam pleased to learn that the Crown Dairy Company are at present building a creamery a short distance away to be worked in connection with the same. A meeting was held last week to discuss the subject of the erection of a public hail in the township in which great interest is being taken. I am informed that a series of dances will be held in the schoolroom for which Mr A. Good has kindly consented to act pianist, the first of which will taka place on Friday 27th April.
