[FROM OUR RESIDENT AGENT] TOWN BOARD. Amir. 11. — The Board's ordinary meeting was held, Messrs Tocker (chairman), Allsworth, Brooking, Mehaft'y, aud Schierney present. i Cordelia-street North. — The acting engineers, Messrs Palmer & Clare, were instructed to furnish an estimate of cost of giving access cither by Pembroke Road or East Road. Cdia-atrcct. — The Board voted drainpipes aud £8 as assistance to the sottlers in improving the street. The chairmau and engineer to arrange as to the work to be done by the settlors themselves. Mr Hkatc's Auction Licin^r. —Mr Newton King wrote stating that he found ho had taken out Mr Shaw's license from the wrong authority, and asking for a refund. Board's solicitor's opinion on the letter read. Clerk instructed to write to the Anditor-General as to whether re-payment would pass audit. Fcnton-ntrecl West. — Tenders were dealt with for work on this street, formation and footpaths, including the taking up of the stone channel at the junction of Broadway, the substitution of a culvert, and tho raising of the footpath at the Stratford Hotel. Smalls' tender of £107 for the whole accepted. Town Hall. — Custodian's quarterly report showed nott revenue of £12 lid. Billards. — Mr W. P. Kirkwood applied for a reduction of the billiard-room license fee from £3 to £1. Board could not see its way. Engineer. — The Clerk was instructed to call tenders for the post of engineer to the Board. Fatea Bridge. —Mr Allsworth gave notice to move the adoption of a by-law to regulate the traffic on the bridge. Band,. — Messrs Collier & Co. "wired accepting Board's offer for baud instruments. Referred to sub-committee. Accounts. — Accounts to the amount of £80 13s 6d were passed for payment. The Board rose. DOMAIN BOARD. The same members sat. Football Ground. — The Chairmau was empowered to act in concert with the Football Club in tho matter of improving tho ground. Shooting in the Domain. — Tho Clerk Wiiiti instructed to advertise, warning pel-sons against tho practise of shooting ill the Board's reserves. Accounts. — Accounts to £2 8s 3d wore passed. _^__^________ In order to give nioro attention to the tuning department, Mr Milton Craig haß removed his pianos, &c, to Mr Thos. Avery's, music seller and stationer. This will in future be the depot for pianos, music, and tuning. — Advt.
