POLICE COURT. THIS DAY.
Friday April 13.— Before R. Cock, Esq., J.P., and W. Runciman, Esq., J.P. Case of Herbert Shand. — Herbert Sand, on remand, was charged with the misappropriation of several sums of money entrusted to him by John Jackoush, of Stratford, for whom ha acted as agent. Mr C. F. Richmond appeared for the prosecution and Mr Shailer Weston for the prisoner. There were five different charges against the accused. Ho pleaded guilty to the first charge and the prosecuting solicitor withdrew the other charges. The Bench sentenced the accused to three months' imprisonment with hard labor.
