|P«K PRBSH ASSOCIATION.] OiiKiSTCHUKCH, February 4. — The rain ceased on Friday afternoon, and a strong nor'wester set in during the night and continued all day on Saturday; consequently when the game was resumed on Saturday morning all traces of rain were gone, and the wickets and turf were as good as on the first day. Canterbury's innings closed for 331, Pearce (54) and Collins (26) scoring well at the finish. Austin took six wickets for 110 runs, and Gould four for 69. New South Wales' batting was disappointing to the 3000 spectators present, making no headway against the bowling of Robertson and Labatt, "who bowled unchanged. The innings closed for 118, and following on three were out for 24. The following are the scores: —

In the first innings Robertson took six wickets for 72 runs, and Labatt^ciptufed the other four in 216 balls for 37 runs The game will be finished on Monday.
The following cricket team has been chosen by the Alliance to represent New Zealand in the match against New South Wales at Lancaster Park on Fobruary 22 :— L. A. Cuff, H: DeMaus, A. M. Labatt, J. D. Sydxky, February 5. — In response to a request from Mi* Davis, the captain of the New South Wales team now in New Zealand, Mr Newall, an intercolonial bowler, is endeavoring to obtain leave to go to New Zealand to strengthen the team in the match against all New Zealand.
