During the contest for the Cup presented by the Commodore of the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club, a serious collision took place in the channel between the yachts Valkyrie, Vendetta, and Britannia. The last named received severe injuries. CABMEN ON STRIKE. Paris, January 13. A strike has taken place among the Parisian cabmen. NO MORE CONVICTS FOR SIBERIA. St. Peteusbo g, June 13. It is reported that it is the intention oi the Czar to put an end to deportation of convicts to Siberia. j AMERICANS IN ENGLISH PRISONS. Washington, June 13. Mr Gresham, Secretary of State, states that President Cleveland is actuated by the same sentiments as when last in office respecting those of American birth confined in gaols- in England for political crimes, and h&a instructed Mr Bayard, the American Minister to England, to watch the interests of Gallagher and his associates.
