') TURRG is a groat deal of speculation indulged in anunt the probable winners of the Junior Cup this season, and there is good causo to speculate as several of the teams are in form up to date 8'; equal that it is difficult to foresee the result. The teams that are fancied aro Clifton Rovers (who are now leading), Star 11, Tukapa, and Stratford. The Rovers aro a good I tcarr, but 1 think Star II will lower their colors at next meeting Tukapa aro making strenuous efforts to improve their team as much as possible, and when they meet Ciifton Kovers thoy will have a particularly warm fifteoa in the field. Stratford must I l>e a fair team in view of the closeness of the scores in the match against Clifton Rovers, who won by two points only. At present I fancy the Star II for the Junior Cup. Theru is a lull in senior football circles | in town, but it is only the calm that precedes the storm, for the patrons of the game and the leather hinged " barracker" are sure to be in evidence when tho Star and Clifton st uggle for the supremacy ! on Thu red ny, June 20. The place of Robinson a; full b ck will bu filled by Okey or Sadler, and Kiogsloy's place at three quarter will probably be filled by A Kivell I think " the boys" will make a bid for victory that day, but I would strongly adviso them to keep up their training, as I hoar Clifton are getting in the best of form in order to turt* the tables. ' The Stratford and C ifton first fifteens met in the second Cup round this (Thursday) afternoon on the gr und of the former.
