POLICE COURT.
Monday, June 12. — Before His Worship tho Mayor, J.P., and 11. G. Bauchopo, Esq., J.P. Borough By-Laws.— Wong Wab, who was chargod with a breach of the Borough by laws by taking a wheelbarrow on the footpath, was let off with a caution on paying costs, 7s. Driving License —John Kibby, who was charged with driving for hire without a license, having since taken out one, was ordered to pay costs, 7b.
No Appearance. — William Edg> combe did not appear to answer a charge of drunkenness. — Seigcant D :ffiu called John Parlington, win said he was in Brougham street when he saw Edgecombe, who called out to him. Witness did not want to say anything to Edgecombe, so he passed on, whereupon Edgecombe called out, " Yon aro a — — ol I goat." Ho 3laini9d tho prot ction of tho Court aga'nst such villianous language. Edgecombo wadrunk, and was being led by a man. — Vernon Hamilton Colello nlso gave evidence. — Sergeant Dnffin said that Edgecombe was very insulting when in liquor, and he would a-k tho Bench to inflict a substantial penalty. — A fine of 15s, with costs ill la, in default 48 hour.s, was inflicted.
