PRE-SESSIONAL ADDRESSES.
ON'Thnrsday night last, Mr E. M. Smith, in responso to a requisition from tho sottlcrs, addressed a crowded mooting in tho Pnkoarulio schoolroom. MrThompson wits in tho chair. Mr gave an interesting speech, and at tho conclusion he recoivod ahoirty voto of thauks and conQflouco, on the motion of Mr Atkinson
On Saturday night Mr Smith addressed tho electors in Capt. Reardon's housf, at Mokfiu. Mr W. Buyly wus in the chair. Mr Smith dwelt a groat deal on tho open ing up of tho Mokau, Mr McCntclian moved v hearty vote of thanks and confidence. Captain Reardon seconded the proposition, which was carried unani Hionsly. Mr Smith returned to (own on Sunday night.
Captain Edwin wired at 1 30 p.in :—: — " Indications for frost to night and for low tides.'
