London, April 9. Vicat Cole, 8.A., the landscape painter, died suddenly on Saturday, aged 60 years. STRIKE AT HULL. The Unionists at Grimsby have undertaken to boycott vessels from Hull. There is brisk demand, and prices remain firm. Continental buyers are especially active. Medium wools are very strong ; English representatives buying fruely. New South Wales consignments are bringing i)^d to Is 7id, according to class; merinos and cross-breds are farthing to halfpenny above last quotations. APPLES BY AORANGI SPOILT. The fiost spoiled forty cases of the Aornngi's apples, and the worms damaged a number of the cheeses. EXPORTS AND IMPORTS Exports of the United Kingdom have decreased £232,000, and imports £2,700,000 last month. i RIOTOUS TEETOTALLERS. l Rioting took place in Trafalgar Square on Saturday. An organised body of three thousand teetotallers broke up a meeting in opposition to the Local Veto Bill, and destroyed the banners. Several persons were injured in the vie'ee. Ten of the rioters wero arrested. MR BALFOUR IN DUBLIN. Mr Balfour addressed a meeting of five thousand Unionists in the Leinster Ball, Dublin, and was received with immense enthusiasm. PANAMA CANAL. Papis, April 9. If a company is formed to complete the Panama Canal by October next year, the Columbian Government will allow it 10 years to finish tho work. ANNEXATION OF SAMOA. Beiilin, April 9. The Coloync Gazette advises the German Government to annex Samoa, as the situation has become serious. POLITICAL CRISIS IN SERVIA. Belgrade, April 9. The Liberals have failed to secure a majority in Skuptschina, but relying on the support of the army have determined to continue in power. The condition of Servia is now bordering on anarchy. REPARATION WANTED. Washington, April 9. The President is insisting on reparation from the Turkish Government for the destruction of American mission at Maisonan, a town in Asia Minor. DEPORTING MISSIONARIES. It is reported here that General Schmidt, the Governor of the Marshall Islands, intends to deport the American missionaries. RISING IN CATAMARCA. Bdenos Ayres, April 9. The rising in Catamarca, a province in the Argentine, in the extreme west, is becoming serious.
