AIR. NEWTON KIISG'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PROL JCE REPORT. On Friday, tho 28th inst., I held a clearing sale of "Mr Surgent's farm und dairy stock. Thore was a good attendance of buyers, and tho cattlo (which wore all young and of good quality), were \yoll competod for, though no very high prices wore realised. Heifers, forward ia calf, made £4 12s to £4 17s 6d ; springers, £5 10s to £G 10a ; springing cowa, £G to £8 ; cows, in milk, £4 15s to £6 ; -store cows, £3 ss.

At tho Haymarket, on Saturday, fower pigs came in than the p'eviouß weok. Slips nude Gs 6 1 to 9n. Tho latter price for tiptop quality. Cattle.— The yards at Stratford, on Tuesday, were well- filled. Bidding showed a marked improvement on last sale, almost every pen selling at the hammer. Young cattle were considerably higher than late rates ; steers about the same. I airy cattle were in demand, and sold well. I quote :- Calves, 32s' to 46s ; Yearlings. 44s to 55s ; 18-montha steers, £3 7s to to £3 12s Gd ; 2-year steers to £4 ; 2 yea -s and over, £4 4s to £4 10s ; springing heifers made £4 5s to £5 5s ; empty cows, £3 8s to £3 12s Gd"; bulls £2 11s to £5 10b.— The Waiwakaiho Bale on Wednesday, following Stratford, was lively, buyers competing eagerly ; very few pens were passed. All young stock sbowod a big advance on previous eule. Steers, 2-years and over, wero at last prices . Dairy stock sold well -, also heifera in calf. Calves, 36s to £2 5s ; yeurlinge to 55a ; 18-nionthß stoorfl, £3 7s; 2-years, £4 ; springing cows, £5 la to £7; i springing heifers to £5 17s 6d ; Btore cowk, £3 3s to £3 10s ; bu'ls. £2 12» Gd to £4 12s ; backward cows, £3 18s to £4 2s. Produce. — Owing to favourable advices from Home butter baa advanced to BJd for dairy. Land.— l sold by auction, on Saturday, section 120, Hua and Waiwakaiho, containing 320 acres, on account of tho mortgagee, to Mr Smith, at 365.
