HANDICAPS FOR JUVENILE SPORTS.

Messrs Wyllie, Webster, and Humphries have declared the following handicaps for the Juvenile Sports to be held in the Recreation Grounds on Wednesday next (November 9) : — Boys Undeb 17 ; 200 yds. —A. BEOREAIION GBOUNDS BOAED. The Recreation Grounds Board met on Friday night. Present : Messrs Skinner (chairman), Govott, Roy, Corkill, Hughes, Ford , and Cock

Sunday Ct ncerts. — A letter was received from Mr A, C. Fookos, and also a petition from 44 subscribers to the grounds asking the Board to grant the T.R.V. Band permission to play sacred music in the grounds on Sunday afternoons. — After discussion it was decided to grant the permission auked, on condition Hint no charge be made at the gate or collection made in the ground. An amendment that tho concerts should not bo started earlier than 3.30 o'clock was lost.

Possession of Section. — Mr Govott and the hon. secretary were appointed a committee to instruct Mr Samuel to take immediate proceedings to ootain possession of sec 1182, now occupied by Mr Healcy. License. — It was -decided to charge an annual license fee or! 6s for each boat on the lako, conditionally that the license might bo withdrawn if it was found that tho banks were injured, and also that the boats be not used after 8 a.m. on Sunday. Shelter. -It was resolved that steps be at once taken in conjunction with the Athletic Club to provide cover for the two boats.

Boat charge*. — The custodian was instructed to charge 2s Gtl per hour for the large and le tor tho small boat to anyone requiring them.

Bathing Shed — The Swimming Club wore given the charge of the bathing shed and requisites during tho season.

Declining to modify. — The Board decided to adhere to their terms with Mr W. Dingle with respect to an exchange of land near the Carrington Road entrance, and declined to modify thorn.

Tree cutting, — It was resolved that before any lows of trees or clumps of trees in a conspicuous position bo cut down tho necessity for doing so bo decided by tho Board. Jiccoviry. — Tbo hon secretary was instructed to recover the value of the va6e destroyed by two boys the other day, or to make them replace the destroyed property.

Tr-spaesing Cattle. — The poundkeeper was instructed to visit the grounds and impound all cattle grazing in the grounds or at large on the roads adjoining.

Contribution Box s. — Mr Skinner handed over 4s 4d, received through the contribution boxes.

Overseer. — Mr Ford was appointed over seer for the month. The Board adjourned-
