INGLEWOOD IMPROVEMENTS

MR FRANKLYN'S NEW BUILDING. Mr W. 11. Fkakkia'x's now building, which includes tho shop and residence, has been completed. It is well finished in all its dcpaitments, and the private apartments are splendidly furnished. The building has a frontage of 40 feet, and an elevation of 32 fee*. It is divided by three shop windows. Tho entrance to the shopß is by two pairs of double folding doors. Tho crockery shop, which adjoins the now building, has a frontage of 12 feet, co the total frontage is 52 feet, along which runs a substantial verandah, 10 feet wide. The main shop is 40 feet by 20 feet, and is fitted with shelves and counters. Two half -gl ss doors open from the back of the shop into the diningroom, which is 24 feet by 14 feet 6 inches. Tho walls are covered with a handsome sanitary paper. A door opens from this room into the kitchen, 12 feet by 10 feet, where there U water laid on from a tank outside. Thero is also a bedroom, 18 feet by 10 feet, in which there is a fireplace. To tho left of the hall is the sitting-room, 14 feet by 14 foot, which is fitted with a registered Btovo. All tho woodwork— the mantelp'cce, doors, &c. — is of rimu, and varnished. The walls are also covered with very handsome sanitary paper. By means of a French casement access is obtained to a neat verandah, from which thero is a view of a small but prettily laid out garden. All the rooms on the ground Moor arj 13 feet high. From tho hal. thero is a stnirc so, tho bannisters of which are supported by bronze bracket-'. At the top of the stairs is a largo landing. Tho wails of the lull, as well as the passages and up the staircase, are covered with an oak parer varnished. On the upper floor is tho drawing-room, 15 feet by 14 feet, and ivdjoiaiog it is a bedroom. This latter room has a large window facing the cast, and an ther the north Attached to it is a dressing-room fitted up with a wardrobe There nre threo other bedrooms all of good sizo, md a very comforcable bathroom with every convenience and supp'ied with water from a 400 gallon tank on the outsido. There is also a j largo linen closet fitted with shelves The building, which is a very convenient and handsome one, was p'.auned by Mr John Rowe and Mr Frdnklyn, and is a gr at ornament to the town.
