Melbourne, January 12. At a Cabinet meeting to-day, Mr Munro, the Premier, accepted the Agenfc-Genoralship, and Mr Shiels, succeeds Mr Munro as Premier. Sir F. T. Sargood and Hons IKvis, Ham, and Fraser, members of the Ministry in the Council, resign with Mr Munro, as they opposo the one man one vote principle, which is to be tho chief plank in the platform of tho re-constructed Ministry at the general election. Sydney, July 12. The horses purchased by Australian owners at the Wellington Park sale in .Auckland on Janaaiy -4, have been landed in good condition. Parliament has resumed, and the debate on the second reading of the I Customs Bill is proceeding. Much needed rain is falling throughout the colony, except at Broken Hill and west of tho Darling. Buibbane, January 13. A tragic termination to a wedding is reported from Dalby. A portion of the party returning home wero struck by lightning, the brother of the bride being killed and several others badly injured.
