CARLETON.— At Napier, on the 28th of November, after a short illness, Lydia Jane, widow of the late Hugh Carloton, Esq , late of Upper Norwood, London, S.E., aged 56 yeara. KOMENE PAIPA.— On the 3rd December, at his late residence, Whakahukuwai, Lower Hutt, Komene Paipa, chief of Ngatiawa, aged 78 years. WHITAKER.— At Auckland, on Decein ber 4th, suddenly, Sir Frederick Whitaker, K.C.M.G, in his 80th year.
