THE EGMONT FARMERS' UNION (Limited) REPORT.
On Saturday, tho 28th ult, we held our usual monthly horse fair. The entries. were large', and the quality of the stock taken as a wholo was rather better than usual. Owing to our rhe"eting'of shareholders occupying a Jongor' time ihan was" expected, wo could not start the sale before 3 p.m., which made it rather htfrried. Wo • had, however, a ;very large attendance, and a great' number of. horses changed hands under the hammer, at prices ranging from £1 5a to £15 103.—0n Wednesday, the 2nd inst, we held our fortnightly stock Bale in Hawera. The entries of cattle were very largo, fully a hundred more coming forward than were advertised. The attendance was fairly good, and bidding brisk for nearly every pen, so that with few exceptions every lot sold under the hammer. We quote:—3 to 4-year old forward steeri £5 5s to £5 8s 6d, 2 to 3-ycar-old steers £3 15s to £4 12s 6d, 1 to2year old steers £2 7s 6d to £3 ss, dairy cows £3 7s'6d to £4, fat cows £4 to £4 17s, 2 to 3-year-old heifers £2 19s to £3 12s 6d, 6,t0 ,12-months mixed sexes £1 10b to £4 sb. :
