HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
The High School Board of Governors met on Wednesday. Present : Messrs Halcombe, Kelly, Roy, Cornwall, and Dr. Hutchinson. Resignation. — Mr Marchant resigned as member of the Board, and Mr N. K. MacDiarmid was elected to the vacancy. Half-fees— lt was decided, " That tho children of new residents in the district be admitted on payment of half fees after the expiry of one-half of the terra." Drawing Models. — The Principal was instructed to procure the necessary drawing models mentioned in his letter to the Board. Retiring Members. — The names of the retiring members for the year —Mr Halcombo and Captain Cornwall — have been submitted to the Governor for re-appoint-ment. Education, — Dr. lldtchinson read a long paper on secondary schools' education. — It was decided to forward the memo, to the various Secondary School Boards, inviting an expression oi opinion on tho subject. Accounts. — Accounts amounting to £134 3s were passed for payment The Board adjourned.
