TARANAKI CUSTOMS' RETURNS.
We are indebted to Mr T. A. Murphy, the Collector of Customs, for the following interesting return, which shows how ho is working up tho Customs business of the place. The duties which should have been credited to the place have hitherto been collected at other ports, but Mr Murphy is getting this altered, hence the large increase :—: — Customs Duties collected during the quarter ended June 30, 1891, and the same quarter last year. 1891 1890 £ s. d. £ s. d.
