QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY. ON MONDAY NEXT.

This year the Queen's Birthday falls on next Sunday, and, in consequence, the celebrations will be held on Monday, when, with fine weather, moat people will go in for festivities.

THE VOLUNTEERS and Central School cadets will meet at 830 a.m. on the reclaimed land, where they will fire a feu d&joie. The Band will also be in attendance to play the National Anthem. In the forenoon the companies will proceed to the butts at Frankley Road for prize firing.

THE BELL BLOCK RACES in Mr S. Rundle's paddock, near .the village, will be a great attraction for all who take an interest in the equine, and a large attendance is anticipated. THE FETE IN RECREATION GROUNDS

will also be a source of attraction to many. The Band have prepared a cap ; tal programme for the day. Those who pay a shilling at the entrance will be entitled to a ticket in the Art Union that will be drawn in connection with the fdte. There will be amusements for young and old on the ground. THE "PINAFORE" PERFORMANCE, by local amateurs, under Mr J. A. Sparks, in the Alexandra Hall, will be the great draw in the evening. The cast is as follows : — Ralph Rackstraw, Mr W. Perry; Sir Joseph Porter, Mr T. Hempton; Captain Corcoran, Mr J. M. Lightfoot; Dick Deadeye, Mr H. Ainsworth ; Boatswain, Mr C. Hendry; Josephine, Mrs Beane; Buttercup, Miss Teed; Cousin Hebe, Miss Devenish.
