JUBILEE EXHIBITION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Allow »me space to once more appeal to the honor of producers and manufacturers, especially in the Borough of New Plymouth, to make an effort in the matter of exhibits in the coming show. The primary object in holding the Exhibition was to show the progress made during the past fifty years; and what better evidence can be produced of the onward .movement of a place than its manufactures ? Yet, strange to flay, unless we take heart, notwithstanding the many ] workshops in our midst, our industrial exhibits will be such a beggarly show that we had almost better be without. The enquiries from outside are many, giving evidence of a large influx of visitors, and it being the first opportuni y that New Plymouth or the Taranaki district has had of proving to the outside world of a tangible existence, I. cannot but appeal to all to fulfil the promises so freely given at the initial movement of the Industrial Exhibition, and endeavor to make a show of something, and not let outsiders return to their homes with the idea that Taranaki is a " one horse " placo. The date for receiving entries has been extended until .the 21st inst., and the Committee will be pleased to give every facility to those who may wish to enter, more especially our own, products or manufactures.—l am-, &c, A. MOFFLIN.
