TOWN BOARD. The usual monthly meeting of the Board was held on Monday. Present : Messrs J. C. Peach (chairman), R. Col ins, A. Lamb, G. S. Kennedy, and H. W. Marsh. Inward correspondence was read as follows: — From Town Clerk, New Plymouth, re building leases; from 0. Rennell; from Colonel Trimble. Outward correspondence : —To Mr Tarplee ; to S. 0. Spurdle ; to F. Marsden; to R. C. Hughes, Esq.; to Clerk Borough Council, New Plymouth ; to Colonel Trimble ; to Secretary Harbour Board, New Plymouth. The customary statement for the quarter ending March 9 was read, showing the amount collected for rates to be £10 13s. It was proposed by Mr Lamb, and seconded by Mr Marsh, that the clerk write to the Taranaki County Council re the £60 promised by the Council for expenditure on Junction Road, Inglewood. The Chairman brought to the notice of the Board the subject of the Taranaki Jubilee, when some of tho members of the Board explained that they intended to sen i some exhibits. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, seconded by Mr Kennedy, " That all owners of dogs be sued unless they pay within 7 days from this date." The Collector's statement for the past month was read, showing the amount col lected to be £20 5s lOd. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, " That the clerk provide a book wherein to insert all leases issued by the Board." It was seconded by MiKennedy, and carried. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, and seconded, "That Mr Todd be written to and informed that if he did not pay for the stuff taken by him from the Town Board's pit, he would be prose cuted in fourteen days. This was all the business. ■
