Melbourne, February 18.
It is stated that 36,000 sheep perished in a bush fire at Lismore, about 100 miles inland.
The damage by the hush fire in the Stawell district is estimated at £30,000. Many 1 of the settlers are completely ruined.
EIGJI GOLD FIND.
Sydney, February 17.
One party have obtained llozs. of gold per load, and the Peak Hill in the Great Eastern mine 300-, tons of stuff when crushed gave a yield of 3200z5.
Bbisbane, February 17.
The yield of gold in Queensland for 1890 was 588,1470z5, which is a decrease of 150,9000zs as compared with returns for 1889.
