Adelaide, January 13. The Intercolonial Freetrade Commission has recommended the adoption of Intercolonial Freetrade, on a basis of uniform tariff, and regard such -as a corollary of Australian federation. Perth, January 13. A destructive cyclone passed over the district in the vicinity of Lagrange Bay yesterday, starting about 52 miles inland. It travelled at a rapid rate, uprooting a number of telegraph poles in its track. A great amount of damage is reported, and one station lost a thousand sheep, and forty head of cattle. Melboubne, January 12. . Various estimates were made at the - late Federal Conference of the loss that would be sustained by the colonies if Intercolonial Freetrade were established, ranging from half a million to one million for each colony. ~ The leading Customs officer in Victoria has, however, compiled a return based on the year 1889, showing the total loss for all, excluding Mew. Zealand, at only ,6390,000. Obituary : Mr Musgrave, the wellknown colonial actor. The imports for last year were £22,952,000, showing a decrease of £1,450,000. The exports were £13,227,000, showing an increase of £4,992,000 on the previous year. . Melbourne, January 13. Arrived : S.S. Fakehs from London, en route to New Zealand. A bitter .struggle between pastoralists and shearers ia inminent, owing to the Queensland shearers having declined to shear. Under the new agreement with the Pastoralists Union, both sides are determined not to give in. Sydney, January 12. The horses shipped from the Auckland sales are in good condition. Sydney, January. 14. "Wilgas, the ledger-keeper of the English and Scottish Chartered Bank, has been arrested in connection with the Bennett frauds, on a charge of falsifying his accounts. He was apparently working in connection with Bennett. The long standing dispute at Goulbourn Cathedral, between the Bishop and Captain Rossi, over the removal of the Litter's family tablet, has been advanced a stage. Rossi has taken possession of the Cathedral for the purpose of replacing the tablet, and is holding the sacred edifice against all comers. A number of the congregation attempted to enter, but after a scuffle were repulsed.
