LOSS OF H.M.S. SERPENT.

London, November 16. The official report on the loss of the H.M.S. Serpent states that the weather was thick, and the ship bumped on the rocks for half-an-hour, during which the officers remained on the bridge. The captain ordered the crew into the riggings, but a tremendous sea threw the steamer on her beam ends, and all those who were saved belonged to the crew of the life boat, and were wearing life belts. They were washed overboard, and know nothing of what occurred after they parted company Avith the ship.
