LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Thursday, July J 6.—The Speaker took the chair at 2.30 p.m. The Children's Protection Bill was read a third time, and passed. Dr. Pollen resumed the debate on tho j Legislative Council Bi'l, which he opposed. Dr. Grace, in a long speech, supported the Bill which, after an animated debate, was read a second time, by 20 to 11. The Coroners' Inquest Bill was committed, and reported with amendments. The Industrial Schools Act Bill was further considered in Committee, reported with amendments, and the third reading lixed for to-morrow. The Council rose at 4.30 p.m.
