MURDER EAR GISBORNE.

BODY OF MURDERED MAN FOUND. SUPPOSED MURDERER LIVING WITH VICTIM'S WIFE. [PER PREBS ASSOCIATION.] Gisborne, July 17. — A man named Black has been arrested for the murder of Robert Streeter. The latter disappeared in March, when both men were engaged fencing on Foster's station, in a rough bit of country eight miles from the homestead. They went out shooting together, and Streeter has never been seen since. The men were on bad. terms, owing to Black paying attention" to Streeter's wife, and since then the former has lived with her an man and wife, and has worn the missing man's clothes. A search party went out to try and find the' body of Streeter, and yesterday they found it in a hole a short distance from where tho deceased and his mate were fencing. The locality is about 50 miles from Gisborne, and in a very rough country beyond the oil springs The message states there is evidence of Streeter having been murdered, and although the body is in an advanced state of decomposition it is thought there will be no difficulty in identifying the remains. Dr. Innes left town this morning for tho locality of the murder. An inquest will be held to morrow at Whatutu. Black, charged with the murder, and Streeter's wife are to leave Gisborne to-day, in charge of the police, to ha present at the inquest. - Detective Campbell, of Wellington, j arrived here this morning, and proceeds to the scene of the. murder. j
