BANKRUPTCY COURT.
Friday. April 25. — Before 11. G. Bau-
chope, Esq., D.O.A
The private examination of George \i>,*Vna- L-nxitnif\cfrvz iianonr, a uariKrupt, took place on Friday. He said r—lr — I have been in business as a contractor since October, 1888. I had only a small sum of money of my own, not quite £5, at the date. The contract was for bleaching Hax for Stevenson's flaxmill. At first I found the contract fairly remunerative, but latterly I found I could not carry it on at a profit. On my telling him (Mr Stevenson) that I could not continue the contract he made up the accounts, and the balance coming to me was £1 15s lid. This was about the end of January or beginuing of February of this year. I have been working as a day laborer during the fine weather since, but part of that time I was working out an old account. I attribute my present position to taking this contract at too low a price. The bouse and paddock I now live in is the property of Mr Henry Brown, of Rahotu. I have no interest in any leasehold or freehold property. There are now 2 cows, 2 yearlings, and 3 calves in my paddock at Rahotu ; of these, one cow, one yearling, and one calf are my own property ; one cow. one yearling, and one calf are the property of my wife, and one calf the property of my son. Mrs Rusling bought hers by money given by my sons for that purpose, and the two calves were presents from neighbours. The mare is the property of Mrs Rusling, and was bought by her money and our sons' money. Mrs Rusling acquired her money by boarding workmen and sewing for the neighbours. The blacky pony at Rahotu is my son's (Gg^rge Edward) property.
