SUPREME COURT— Criminal Sittings.

THIS I3A.Y. Monday, April 21.— Before Ilia Honor Mr Justice Conolly. His Honor took his seat at 11 a.m. STEALING A WATCH. William Henry Smith, alias Frederick Philpot, alias Frank Philpot, wiih charged with stealing a silver watch and chain from James Savage on November 9, 188'J, This case was tried on Thursday last, but the jury being unable to agree upon a verdict, the case was ordered to be tried over again. The following jury was empannelled :— J. Dingle, R. Gilleapie, 11. Gilbert, F. Oliver, F, Hodson, A. Corbett, \V. Blake, H. A. Warren, G. Cliff, H. Movorley, C. Edgecombe, and A. W. Ogle. Mr H. A. Warren was chosen foreman. Mr It. C. Hughes, in the absence of Mr Standish, Crown Prosoeutor, prosecuted. The evidence was in the main similar to that given on Thursday. After going through the evidence tho jury retired, and in a few minutes returned with a verdict of not guilty. Philpot was then discharged. This closed the criminal sittings.
