Taranaki Herald, December 14 : — 11 The specimens sent are so exquisitely soft in tint, and the figures so artistically posted, that they have the appearance of mezzo-tinto engravings, splendidly execuied, and printed on an opal surface. The pross in all parts of the colony speak in the highest terms of this ' new process,' but so beautiful are the pictures, that none of tho newspapers, we consider, have been able to do full justice to their merits." New Zealand Herald (Auckland), Nov 29. — " The delicate pearly surface given to the pictures by the new process is vory pleasing, aod a new departure from the old style. There is every reason to believe that the clear Opal Type will come into popular favor, as being a great improvement on all other methods of silver printing.
