INGLEWOOD.
[from our own correspondent, j Afkil 1(3. — The Town Board hold its usual monthly meeting in the Board's office on Monday. There wore present Messrs J. C. Peach (Chairman), U. S. Kennedy, 11. W. Marsh, and W. H. Franklyu. — Outward correspondence was read as follows : To Mr Brough and another re drain; 11. B. Curtis, re slaughter house; J. X. Curtis; Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth; Mr J. Paul, re holiday. — Messrs Lamb and Priest attended the Board re petition sent to the Board some time iigo. The Chairman stated that the Working Committee had received instructions a short time since to see to the drain which the above petition refers to. Inward correspondence was read as follows : From Mr Coomber, Inglewood Hotel; from Dance Committee, reengaging Town Hall for the next quarter; from G. , Bancroft, re royally of gravel pit. — The Secretary was instructed to write to the Chairman of tho Moa Road Board. The Dance Committee is to receive the use of the Town Hull for 9s per night, up to midnight. Mr Brough attended the Board, and asked ponni&sion to take gravel from the Board's pit. The Chairman said he would sec Mr Todd, who is at present working the pit. — Mr Al. Marsh attended the Board re the water table in front of his house. — The Collector submitted the names of persons who have not paid the dog tax. The Collector was instructed to prosecute those who have not paid. — It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Marsh, seconded by Mr Franklyn, that tho Band get the use oi! the Hall for two months, at Is per night, when the Hall is not otherwise engaged. Amounts passed for payment, £12. — The Collector's statement for the past month Avas read, showing tho amount collected to be £11 9s 3d.
