FITZROY SCHOOL EXAMINATION.

The Fitzroy School was examined by Mr Murray, the Inspector of Schools, on Friday, with satisfactory results, there being 88 per cent, of passes. This school has progressed wonderfully under Mr J. Young's able tuition. In Standard VI. two scholars were presented, and passed, namely, J. Duttin and D. Lawson. Standard V., 12 were presented, and 9 passed, as follow: — C. Allan, F. Wainhouse, P. Lawson, E. Kendall, J. Knyvett, A. Wray, C. Skelton, J. Tidmarsh, and W. White. Eleven were presented in Standard IV., and 10 passed, these being — L. Jackson, F. Irvine. B. Raymond, R. Wray, F. Lash, M. Robbie, F. Collingwood, J. Collingwood, C. Robbie, and T. Smith ; the eleventh was absent. In Standard 111., L. Kirkby, E. Butler, C. Butler, A. Martin, E. White, E. Bunbury, R. Lacey, and A. Skelton passed, boing 8 out of 11. In Standard 11., A. Colson, P. Hendiy, O. Roberts, S. Hopson U. Monk, M. Kendall, E. Robbie, A. Maclean, M. Clow, A. Hook, and A. Lacey were successful, the number presented passing. Eleven were presented in Standard 1., and the whole passed. Tho names are : — C. Foote, G. Foote, G. Butler, L. Woodhouse, J. Woodhoubc, A. McGivon, C. Thomson, M. Hopson, E. Brookes, B. Colson, and E. Allan.

About seventy performers will take part in the cantata "Unier the Palmi" op Monday evening.
