BIR R. STOUT ON THE REPRE- I SENTATION BILL. Fbiday, July 26.— 1 understand that Mr Fish has received a telegram from Sir R. Stout Baying the Dunedia people nre with him, and that the aotion of the Government has weakened them considerably. A majority is in favor of making a deduction from the small town? when the bill is in Corr mitteo, just the same as the large centres. STONEWALLING STILL PROCEEDING. At 10 o'clock this morning the stonewall was Koing on beautifully. When Mr Blake had finished this morning, Mr Fisher succeeded him, and spoke till nearly 3 o'clock. Mr Menteath and Mr Barron kept it going till 6 o'clock, and then Mr ' Joyce started. He spoke till 8.30 o'clock I without an effort, and an adjournment of I half an hour was then made. After breakfast Mr Joyce resumed the debate, and was reckoned good till about 1 o'clock. Taiwhanga is to come yet, and Mr W. Reeves and Dr. Hodgkinson. Mr Marchant is said to have made a very able speech last night. TRIENNIAL LICENSING BILL. ' The Triennial Licensing Bill has passed its second reading in the Upper House, and is now quite safe. It has passed through Committee, and reported with amendment. Major Steward has • already received telegrams congratulating him on the passing of this useful measure. ANOTHER SPEAKER UP. Mr Joyce, who started at a quarter past four this morning;, spoke till quarter pasr twelve. Mr Taylor is now up.
