THE BABY AND THE TACK.
I threw the buby into the air, It fell to earth, I knew not where, For who, with a tack in his foot at night, Can follow a baby in its flight ? I breathed a swear word into the air, My wife was by, I did not care ; For who that has ever stepped on a tack, Has tried to keep a swear word back. A minute afterwards, in a cloak They wrapped the baby, still anbroke, And the swear word from boginuicg to end, Was told to my wife's most intimate friend.
