LOUIS CHE.MIS ACCOUNTS FOR HIS MOVEMENTS. LIBEL ACTIONS AGAINST JELLICOE. [PER PREBB ASSOCIATION.] Wbllington, July 25. — The Government has received from Louis Chemis a written statement, writen in Italian, in which he gives an account of his movemonts on the night of_the 31st Mty. He asserts his innocence, and protests against being hanged for a crime of which he Bays he is innocent. The etatoment, will be laid before the Governor in due course. An action for libel against Mr E. G. Jellicoe, solicitor, claiming £5000 damn^es has been brought by Mr H. D. Bell, the Crown Profecutcr, for aliened injury contained in certain paragraphs ia the shorthand notes taken by the Government shorthand reporter at the interview between Mr Jellicoe and the prisoner, and published. i
