MB. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PBODUOE BEPOBT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, very few pigs offered, slips making 3s to 4s. A good number of horses came forward, bat bidding was doll, and all the blood stock advertised was passed in; hacks made from £1 to £5 16s. At the Mart fowls made 9s to lid, docks Is Id, turkeys 2s 3d to 3s Id, potatoes Is 9d to 3s, onions, in bag, £d to Jd, cheese 6d, bacon 3£d, tea 14s 6d, sugar 3d. A quantity of furniture and sundries made fair prices. Fruit. — At Monday's fruit sale bidding was dull. Cooking apples made 6s 6d, eating apples 6s to Bs, pears 2£d to 3fd per 11; oranges 9s. Cattle. —At Waiwakaiho, oa Thursday, bidding was dull, and resulted in the worst sale this season, the only lines that were saleable being dairy cattle near calving, either heifers or cows; everything else was stagnant. Calves mada 6s to 10s, 3 -year- old steers £2 ss, springing heifera £3 5a to £3 155, Jersey £4 6s, cows £3 to £4 10s, old do. £1 to £2.— Stony River sale on Wednesday was also quiet. Heifers in calf made £1 12s 6d to £2 10s; springers, £3 14s; in milk £3; calves to yearlings 10s to 14s. Produce — Butter at time of writing (Thnrsday evening) remains at 9d; bat unsatisfactory cables having come to hand, it is not unlikely prices may recede som»what by the time this is published. There is nothing fresh to report re potatoes and onions, which remain at last quotations.
