Melbourne, February 5.
Daring the fight between Slavin and Burke the polioe rushed in the ring, and prevented the fight being continued. Slavin was declared to be the winner.
A cyclone passed over Gastlemaine causing great damage to the fruit. There are heavy floods in tne vioinity, but no iatalities.
Sydney, February 5.
Intertribal fights are raging in the Solomon groups. Thirty men, -women, and obildren were massacred in one onslaught. The coastal tribes are at war with the interior natives, who have made a raid on their cattle. Many were killed, and cannibalism is rampant.
Brisbane, February 5. Caterpillars are devastating the grass at Cairns.
