Tbe steamer Aorere is ashore at Karamea. ODRISTCHUBCH CATHEDRAL SPIRE. Chm9tcutjrch, September 20. _ The Cathedral ohapter states that it teqnirea £750 to restore the spire and repair other damage to the Cathedral. FATAL TRAMWAY ACCIDENT. Dunedin, September 20. A young man named H. D. Plante, compositor in the Witness office, was killed on the Boslyn tramway last night. Plante was walking up tbe side of the line, and was caught up by a gust of wind just as he was emerging from the cutting. Before he oould reoover himself he was blown on tbe line and strnok by the oar.
