THE MELBOURNE DAIRY SHOW.

We have received from the New Zealand Commission the following forwarding instructions as to exhibits for the Dairy and Animal Produce Show, to be heW in Melbourne on the Ist November next. The Commissioners hope the supply of exhibits will be locally taken up. The following information as to how the exhibits .may be sent will be interesting to our readers :- - 1. The Commission will pay all charges for carriage and freight, and will also effect marine insurance, for *hich purpose the local agents must be informed of the value of each exhibit. 2. All exhibits must be forwarlwi to the Executive Commissioner foi New Zealand at Melbourno through tho local agents, not later than by the learner which will leave Wellington on thu 15th October, arriving in Melbourne on the 25th. 3. All packages must have the registered shipping label placed firmly upon them, and must bear the owner's distinctive mark. 4. A duplicate invoice must be forwarded with the entry form for the information of H.M. Castoms at Melbourne. This is imperative. 5. The exhibitor must state on his entry form whether he desires that his exhibit be returned, or otherwise disposed of. 6. The regulations require that all entries must reach Melbourne at least ton days before the show. It is therefore necessary that they should be in the bands of the Secretary to the Commission, at Wellington, not later than the 7th October. 7. The following has been appojnted local agent for Now Plymouth for the collection and forwarding of exhibits, and all necessary information, forms of application, and labels may be obtained from Mr. A. Davidson, carrier. The first show will be bold on tho 20th, 21st, and 22nd of September, and the second show on the Ist, 2nd, and 3rJ of November. The following are the articles that can be sent for exhibition :— 1. Cheeße, not less than 561 b each Barople. 2. Butter for exportation, not less than 56ft each sample. 3. Butter, salt, in jars or casks, for local consumption, not less than 561 b. 4. Butter, fresh, as prepared for market, not less than 6H>. 5. E.'gs of various kinds, naw-lnid or preserved fresh, 2 dozen of each. 6. Preserved Milk. 7. Sugar of Milk. 8. Honey, not less than 101 b, in tins or jars. 9. Honey in the comb, not less than 201 b. 10. Tallow, beef, and mutton, in casks of about lewt. eaoh. 11. Hams, Baoon, and Chaps, samples of not less than lowt. each. 12. Lard, not less than 561 b. 13. Miscellaneous. Exhibitors must provide their own plates, dishes, or baskets, for butter, eggs, &c. Exhibitors shall, under the dii-ection of the Commissioners' Superintendent, arrange their exhibits ; and no exhibit shall afterwards be moved or interfered with without the sanction of. that officer. All exhibits for competition must be the property of the exhibitor or his employer. The prizes to be awarded will consist of medals and certificates, at the discretion of the Executive Commissioners, based on the award of the jurors. All exhibits must be in tho Exhibition Building twenty-four hours before the shows take place, staged by 10 a.m. on the opeuin^ days, anH removed within twenty-four hours from the lime of closing, except where space for the exhibits is provided in another part of the Exhibition. The decision of Jurors to be final, and they shall have the power of withholding prizes from any articles not dtemad worthy. Entries must be made not later than ten days before each show takes place.
