Resolved on Mr Syme's motion, seconded by Mr Gane, that a sum not exceeding £5 be spent. — From Property Tax Department. — A copy of by-law* of the Charitable Aid Board was received from their clerk. — Overseer's report read. — Credit aocount, £24 133 61, — The do? tax wns discussed, and tho state of the Kahui road was brought before the Board by Mr Stevenson, but no action was taken. — It wt>s resolved, on the motion of Mr Gane, seconded by Mr MeHardy, " That this Board oall the attention of. the Auditor-General to the fuct that the books of the Board have not yet been audited for the year 1887-8, and that great inconvenience has arisen in consequence of the delay which has taken place in having tbe Board's accounts audited." — It was resolved, on Mr Syme's motion, seoonded by Mr Stevenson, " That the Chairman be authoiised to expend the sum of £3 on poisoned grain, and endeavour to get the co-operation of the Okato, Waimate, and Oakura Boards, and take all necessary steps for its distribution." — The following accounts were passed for payment : Billing, £1 ; Newman. 16s 61; Wallace, 6* ; Hemingway, £4 3a 4J; three members ut ss, 15a.
