T I THIS Examination is to commence on X Monday, December sth, Candidates must scud into the Begistrar of the University, Wellington, on or before SATtJBDAY, November sth (after which date no application will be accepted), a list , of the snbjects in which they desire to be examined, signed with all their names in fall, accompanied by a statement of their age last birthday, and the fee of TWO GUINEAS. One Guinea of the above fee will serve for their first degree examination subsequent to matriculation. Candidates for Junior Scholarships must state the school or schools at which they hav^ received tuition during the last five years. Candidates who desire to pass the Medical Preliminary must state the fact in their notices. The following are the conditions :— • Mr. liBNRT Wjjbton, proprietor of the Tabakaki Heiiald and The Budget, will 'give a prize of £6 5s for the best sample of WOOD TAB produced from native timbers growing in the Counties of Taranaki, Clifton, or Hawera, the quantities exhibited to consist of not less than thirty gallons, in a cask of local manufacture. Each exhibit to be accompanied by a clear description of the process adopted in its manufacture, and estimate of cost of production. Five gallons of tbe prize exhibit to be available for analysis and trade tests. Mb. F. P. Cobkxll will give a prize of £5 5s for the best sample of jfOTASH, produced from native timbers growing in the Counties of Taranaki, Clifton, or ifawera, ' the quantity exhibited to consist of not less than one hundredweight, put up iv package! of local manufacture, Each exhibit to be accompanied by a clear description of the process adopted in its manufacture, and estimate of cost of production.
