FROZEN MEAT ON THE CONTINENT.

The following extract from the Hamburger Nachriohten of Bth July gives as some highly important information _-as to what is being done in ■ the direction of popularising New Zealand meat on the Continent :— -A joint stook company has recently been formed in Antwerp with Mr. Isterreith, a German merchant, as ohairman. The object is to introduce Australian frozen meat into Belgium and other countries. The first consignment, comprising 10,000 frozen sheep! has already arrived from New Zealand in Antwerp. The company has . built 14 ice chambers, intended to hold 2UOO sheep each, and the mutton is sold at 1.15 francs per kilo, and 1.50 francs per kilo for lega of mutton. On the 4th July the freezing chambers and other establishments of the company were' opened with a great deal of ceremony. The company also owns steamers specially built for the purpose of carrying frozen meat. The Voseiehe Zientung one of the best-read Berlin papers bestows great praise ou the frozen meat, and describes 'it as exceedingly tender. The meat being frozen comes nnder the heading of conserves on the Customs tariff, and is therefore exempt from duty. A kilo or kilogramme being the French metric equivalent for 2 l-sth lbs ovoirpnpoie nearly, the above prices translated into English would mean about s£d per 1b for ordinary'joints, and 7£d for legß, which must be considered very satisfactory returns. It is to be hoped that the enterprise thus außpioiously begun will bo carried oat to its legitimate success, as it cannot fail to impart a great stimulus to the already fast expanding trade of these colonies/

The compulsory confinement weakens the general health and indnces chronic constipation, indigestion, and various forms of skin diseases. Hollo way's remedies are of priceless value to persons of this class, for they can be used without entailing loss of work, being purely vegetable in their composition, and consequently act without harshness on the most delicate system. The experience of more than forty years proves that no means eurpass Holloway's remedies for curing bad legs, bad breast?, piles, and wounds of all kiods. . oo 1.
