EDUCATION BOARD.
\Continued from Town Edition yesterday.] Travelling Expenses. — Mr. Bafohope moved, " That the travailing expenses for members of the Board be 6d per mile, the distance to be reckoned from the members 1 residences by the nearest road to town." — Seconded pro forma by Mrs. Richmond. — Mr. Olson moved as an amendment, "That the allowance for travelling expenses to members be 7b 6d per day, instead of 10s ns at present." —Seconded by Miss Heywood.—After slight discussion, the Board divided on the amendment: Ayes, 4; Miss Heywood, Mrs. Richmond, Messre. Adlam and Olson. Noes,4; The Chairman, Messrs. Syme, Andrews, and Faull. As the numbers were equal, the Chairman g&vo bis casting vote with the noes, and the amendment was therefore rejected. The original motion was then put, and rejected by five votes to three. < The Board adjourned.
