The Turanaki Rifles hold a church parade to-morrow (Sunday), if fine. Fottr cases of imposition were referred to at a meeting of the Charitable Aid Board in Auckland the other day They were put down as rations supplied to supposed destitute persons. In the first case the rations were supplied from 1871 to 1876, and again from 188410 1887, at a total coßt of £86 16a 9£d. The second is an old woman who was relieved from 1885 to 1887, .receiving £62 11s s|d, The third is a man who during the last seven years obtained £77 17s 9|d as relief. Another woman during the last three years hay received £16 16s worth of rations. All these persons have been found to have relatives in positions capable of affording them support, but wh», apparently, prefer to transfer their liability to the ratepayers. The money paid in the four cases cited amounts to the respectable sum of £254 2s B£d, which ought not to have been cast upon the public funds,
