STOCK AND SHAREMARKET Mr. J. C. Davies weekly share report :—

The only local transaction to report daring the week is a parcel of Bank of New Zealand shares at £16. Nationals have been in demand from outsiders at 335. Colonials are rising slowly, buyers offering 41s 6d, sellers holding for 42s 6d, ex dividend. Insurance shares are firm, and generally have an upward tendency. New Zealand Land Mortgage find buyers at 21s. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile are offered at market rates. Money is offering at 8 por cent on good freehold securities, and at from 10 to 12 per cent on bills. New Plymouth, September 2, 1887.
