[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ABCHBIBHOP BEDWOOD'S INVESTITDBE. Wellington August 29 At St Mary's Cathedral on Sunday morning, Archbishop Eedwood was invested with the pallium. The ceremony was performed during High mass by 1 Bishop Luck of Auckland, there was a large assemblage of clergy of the archdiocese. Haydn's Imperial Mass was sung by a powerful choir with orchestral accompaniment. There was an immense congregation to witness the ceremony, and large numbers were unable to obtain admittance to the cathedral. ARBIVAL OF AMMONITION. The ship Blair Drummond, whioh arrived from London on Monday, brings a million and a-half of Snider cartridges for the Defence Department, and also a quantity of ordnance ammunition. RIFLE SHOOTING. Dunedin, August 29. At a meeting of the Otago members of the Bifle Association it was unanimously resolved to recommend that the meeting be held in the second week in January. By 24 to 17 it was resolved that the adoption of the Eemington-Lee Rifle is prejudicial to the interests of rifle shooting in the colony, and the Association should use the weapon with whioh the Volunteers are armed. .
