UNITED ASSOCIATION.

A 1< tt'.-r ana read from the Patea Association, in which it was stated that they had decided to endeavuir to form a United Association for tho West Coast. A circular iiom the Patea Association pointing out the advantages of auch an institution was also read.

Mr. Ktngdon said that there was nothing tamable before the meeting. The proposils were indefinite, and ha thought they could hardly discußS them. He thought the matter had better be left to the Committee.

The G'UAiHMAN said it seemed to him that the idea was to include the district from Manawatu to the northern boundary o£ Taranaki.

Mr. UlsOX said that reply night be given thac they agreed with the proposal from Patea; but he thought the Taranaki Society was hardly justified in incurring the expense o£ sen ling delegates away again, seeing that nothing had come of the last meeting of delegates.

It was finally decided, on Mr. Olson's motion, seconded by Mr. Newland, '"That being generally favorable to a United Agricultural Association for the West Coast from Mauavvatu to Mokau, this Society will give any definite proposals to that end an earnest cousideration when submitted for approval, but does not at present see its way to appoint delegates to a general meeting, efforts having hitherto in that direction tailed."

SHOW AT BELL BLOCK.

A letter was read from Mr, Sargent, of Bell Block, pointing out the adviaibleness of holding a show at Bell Block, and offering the use ot his yards for the purpose. Tho names of fifty-four gentlemen were also given as being willing to take part if suitable prizes were given at the Bell Block Show.

Mr. Kyxgdon thought it was not advisable to go to Bell Block. A promise of more members to the Society it" thu Sho>v ■was hyid ihtre, but aa tho only objection hitherto raised aguainst the Taranaki Society was its inefficient management these fifty-four gentlemen should joia with the viow of effecting an improvement in that respect. He moved that tho matter be left to the Committee for settlement.
