A parcel of BaDk of New Zealand shares has changed hands at £19 17s, This stock is hanteniDg, nud snares are not so easily obtainable as t hey were a short time since Ihe investment g.vis over 7£ per cent, without any trouble of collec'ing, and as the shares are low now, it should be a good means of placing small sums. ColoDials are scarce; sellers ask'Dg 445, cumdiv.; buyers, 435. No si^n of improvement yet in lusurance stock. South British remain at about 30s, while New Zeilands have dropped 3s, the amount of the dividend just paid. Small sums from £100 to £500 are offering for good mortgnge securities.
