ANGLO-COLONIAL TEMPERANCE CONGRESS.
On Wednesday next the Bishop of London will open the British and Colonial Temperance Congress. REPEATING RIFLES FOR THE FRENCH ARMY. Sixty thousand repeating rifles have been served to the French troops. THE DUO DE AUMALE. The Due de Aumale notifies that he will legally resist the removal of his name from the Army List by the French Government. THE PANAMA CANAL, Baron de Lesseps has abandoned his proposal to issue lottery bonds for the purpose of carrying on the Panama Canal. Other bonds will however, be issued for the amount orignally proposed. THE NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN. The New South Wales loan at 3£ per cent., with the minimum fixed at £95 55., is already quoted at a premium of l£ per cent.
