The tenders for the Tasmanian Government loan of a million at 4 per ceut., minimum 99, was opened to-day. The total amount offered was found to be £2,000,000. Tenders at £98 13s. 6d. will receive 38 per cent., above that price in full. CONFERENCE OF AGENTS-GENERAL. A meeting took place to-day between the Upper Canadian Commissioner and the Agents-General of all the Australian Colonies, except New South Wales. Secrecy was observed in the proceedings, but it is understood that nothing was decidod with regard to the proposed telegraph cable across the Pacific.
